Romantic Things To Do For Valentine's Day In London

We might not be Paris, but London is definitely one of the most romantic places in the world to spend Valentine’s Day. Here are our ideas to get you started for romantic ways to spend the day:

1. Eat a Valentine’s Special

Many restaurants and bars in the city will be serving up Valentine’s specials for one day only, so try something unique like the Cupid Dough from Megan’s in Clapham, Prosecco Crumble at Humble Crumble in Spitalfields Market, or the Love Bubble Tea from Bunsik in Camden.

2. Leave a Love Lock

Leave a lasting reminder of your love by leaving a love lock with your initials at an iconic London location. You can find them on Tower Bridge, Golden Jubilee Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Camden Lock and outside Shoreditch High Street Station

3. Hit up a Photo Booth

Drag your sweetie to one of London’s many photo booths for the perfect souvenir. Our favourites include the retro version at Horse Tunnel Market in Camden, the black & white one in Rough Trade East and the super quirky Expressive PhotoBooth at Novelty Automation.

4. Smell The Roses

Go flower shopping for the perfect bouquet. Columbia Road Flower Market is the ideal place though it’s only open on Sundays. Don’t worry if you’ve left it too late, there are plenty of other places to find gorgeous roses including Battersea Flower Station, Igloo Flowers, Clifton Nurseries in Maida Vale and Highgate Flowers.

5. Drink Champagne

Toast your day in style with a bottle at a London champagne bar. One of the most romantic locations in the city has to be Searcys Champagne Bar in St Pancras. Located next to the Eurostar platforms, you can sip away while watching passengers come and go.

6. See A Show

Cuddle up in the West End while watching a romantic show at the theatre. We think Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre or Pretty Woman: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre would be the perfect ticket!

7. Go off the beaten track

Don’t want to stick with the classics?! Go quirky and take an origami class at The Vagina Museum or play a game of Divorce at Novelty Automation. For something really unique, go on a date in the house of a serial killer at Bloodbath in Bethnal Green - read out article to find out more.

8. Take in the view

Nothing is more beautiful than a city sky line and there are countless places to view it from. Choose something fancy like a trip on the London Eye and dinner at SUSHISAMBA or enjoy the view for free from Sky Garden and the viewing gallery at the Tate Modern. Make it even more romantic by visiting at sunset!
