Set across two grade II listed buildings in Woolwich, The Burnt City is a labyrinth of impressive and atmospheric environments, spanning over 100,000 square feet, to get lost in and explore. From the neon-lit backstreets of Troy to the huge open spaces of Ancient Greece, the sets are visually stunning, designed to include the tiniest details with so much to discover.
The experience begins as guest are handed beaked masks to wear and asked to stay silent throughout, encouraging anonymity as you make your way around the space. Based around the myths of the Trojan wars through the eyes of Euripidus and Aeschylus, the tragedies are enacted by incredible dancers and talented performers. Guests can choose to follow a particular character throughout the story or explore for themselves to create their own story. With so many ways to explore and watch the show, everyone gets a completely different experience.
With impressive production from Punchdrunk, the team behind Sleep No More and The Drowned Man, this three hour experience gives you the chance to create an immersive experience that’s completely unique to you. One guest attending on our evening had seen the show over 100 times, proving that you could visit over and over and have a completely different experience every time.
Starting at £45 you can find out more about the experience and book tickets at the The Burnt City website.
