Chaoshan HotPot & Handmade Beef Balls

Tuck into a mini hotpot and the bounciest handmade beef balls at Teo HotPot.

Located in Bloomsbury, Teo Hotpot is a welcoming and cozy Chaoshan restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere and modern vibe.

Unlike other hotpots in the city, Teo offer mini pots for each person which are perfect for solo diners and means everyone can order their favourite broth. We tried Teo's Satay Beef Broth which was rich and savoury, slow-cooked from beef bone and the Wild Mushroom Soup as a tasty vegetarian alternative.

There’s an interesting selection of signature drinks, including both cocktails and mocktails. The Phoenix Lychee Martini was sweet and refreshing mixed with phoenix tea infused vodka, while the Grape & Olive Sour was a complex and powerful drink with olive infused vodka, apple cider vinegar, grapes and tabasco.

The menu has something for everyone with a wide selection of meat, seafood and vegetables to mix and match along with street food dishes and desserts.

We tried the Beef Selection Platter which was beautifully presented and so fresh with five authentic Chaoshan-style cuts including wagyu marbling king, picanha, crispy fat, boneless rib and flat iron.

Teo’s speciality are Chaoshan-style Handmade Beef Balls which come in three different styles are so bouncy and juicy - making them a must-try hotpot dish and this is the only place you can find them in London.

The King Prawns were gigantic and juicy while the super fresh Assorted Vegetables Platter was the perfect accompaniment to the meat.

Make sure to pay a visit to the condiment station where you can mix accompanying sauces for your dishes. You can either follow the tried and tested recipes on the wall or get creative and make your own.

If you're really hungry, we highly recommend adding some HoFun' Noodles to your hotpot though make sure not to over order as the restaurant don't allow you to take away leftovers.
