Summer Daze Comedy Club

Harbour Quay Gardens (right on the water, picnic spots, boardwalk, the lot) transformed into the Hazy Daze Tent – a proper comedy den with views that make you forget you’re still in London. Summer Daze is the perfect reminder that Canary Wharf isn’t just glass and finance anymore. Wood Wharf feels like the cool younger sibling of the estate – waterside parks, new cafés, art, outdoor swimming at Sea Lanes, and now a festival that mixes free Shakespeare under the sky with proper stand-up that could hold its own at the Fringe.

Most of the daytime stuff is free; the comedy nights in the Hazy Daze Tent are the (very reasonably priced) cherry on top. An unmissable night of stand-up featuring some of the most exciting voices on the circuit, headlined by Sarah Keyworth and packed with talent. We really enjoyed every single act – and two of them made us cry with laughter.

Tatty Macleod

The French-British bilingual queen of culture-clash comedy Tatty Macleod was our host. Raised in Brittany by British parents, Tatty has turned the daily friction of two languages, two sets of manners and two completely different approaches to queueing into comedy gold. She’s the “French TikTok Lady” to millions, but live she’s even better — warm, razor-sharp and deeply relatable if you’ve ever felt slightly wrong-footed by a different country’s rules. 🇫🇷 🥖

Her material on French vs British social codes (and her viral “DIY Liz” mum) is the sort of thing that has the whole tent nodding while howling.

Michael Akadiri (aka The Comedy Doc) 😷 💊 🍼

Junior doctor by day, multi-award-winning stand-up by night. Michael Akadiri brings clever, warm, incisive observations from the NHS frontline and fatherhood with the kind of timing that makes you trust him with both a punchline and a prescription. Winner of the Komedia New Comedy Award and a BBC New Comedy Awards finalist, he’s got that rare combo of proper jokes and proper heart.

Eli Hart 🥕 🤣

The 2025 BBC New Comedy Award winner from the West Midlands, serving gloomy, deadpan brilliance about the sheer mundanity of life. Think young, glummer Jack Dee with a Midlands accent and an eye for the tiny, ridiculous details the rest of us miss. Eli Hart is fast, punchy, and already a regular on pro bills — he had the tent in the palm of his hand. We cried with laughter at a joke about man eating carrots and the way pigeons talks to him.

Sharp, offbeat, and gloriously themselves. Sarah Keyworth (they/them) has been turning gender, identity and everyday absurdity into gold for years — Edinburgh Fringe darling, Live at the Apollo regular, Radio 4’s Are You A Boy Or A Girl? creator, the works. Their storytelling feels like a mate leaning in with the funniest observation you’ve never quite managed to put into words.
