Mr Simms Sweetshop Afternoon Tea

Inspired by everyone's sweetshop favourites, this gorgeous afternoon tea is perfect for adults and children alike.

Located in the luxurious surroundings of Mayfair's historic Chesterfield Hotel, tea is served in the sunny conservatory surrounded by giant sweets and candy carts.

The experience begins with a magical Pink Lemonade which is presented in a glass of dry ice with a sherbet flying saucer on top.

Striking and colourful, the afternoon tea is suitable for everyone with vegetarian, vegan and halal menus also available.

Choose from an incredible selection of loose tea, flowering tea, coffee and hot chocolate, or indulge by adding a glass of Lanson Champagne. We loved the Bespoke Liquorice Tea which reminded us of the pick n mix favourite Black Jacks.

Start by tucking into a delicious selection of finger sandwiches - each served on a different type of bread to give a rainbow of variety.

Enjoy Smoked Salmon with chives and cream cheese, Egg Mayonnaise, Cucumber with dill and cream cheese, Honey Roast Ham with cheese and chutney, and our favourite, Roast Chicken with mustard mayonnaise and nibbed almonds. The vegan selection included Grilled Vegetables with rocket and pesto, Hummus & Roasted Red Pepper, and the delicious Sun-Dried Tomato with red onion marmalade and rocket on beetroot bread.

It wouldn't be afternoon tea without some freshly baked scones, and this one comes with both traditional and chocolate chip homemade scones served with strawberry jam and a mountain of clotted cream.

Saving the best to last, the sweet shop inspired desserts and pastries are sure to bring back childhood memories with a Coca-Cola Slice, Drumstick Macaron, Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup, Cherry Love Heart Cheesecake, Blue Raspberry & Bubblegum Battenberg, Rhubarb & Custard Choux Bun and two Giant Jazzies Lollipops served in a glass of popping candy.

The vegan cakes are equally as tempting with a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup, Lemon Curd Tart, Champagne & Coconut Cupcake, Caramel Cheesecake, Apple Loaf Cake and our favourite, the Chocolate & Hazelnut Slice.

The fun continues afterwards when you visit the sweet cart to make a pick n mix bag to take away filled with a selection of your favourite classic sweets.
