Mammy Pancake

Cult Favourite Bubble Waffles

Hong Kong's iconic bubble waffles have come to London at Mammy Pancake in Notting Hill.

Located on Portobello Road, Mammy Pancake caused quite a stir when opened it's doors a few months ago with long queues of customers desperate to try the iconic waffles for themselves.

The menu features a range of tempting flavours with both sweet and savoury egg puff bubble waffles, a dessert selection of checkered waffles and drinks ranging from milk tea and matcha to homemade lemonade and smoothies.

The signature Original Bubble Waffle is the most popular item on the menu with it's crispy outer shell and soft chewy centre.

Using high quality ingredients and inspired by Mammy's home cooking, we were keen to try some of the more traditional Chinese recipes like the Salted Egg Yolk Waffle. It's a surprising and delicious combination - sweet on the outside with the salty kick as you bite into it.

The Chestnut Egg Waffle is perfect for the winter months with it's comforting sweet and nutty taste.

Our favourite was the Double Cheese Egg Waffle with cheddar and mozzarella mixed into the batter. You can never go wrong with cheese and this is a winning concotion.

Saving the most spectacular looking waffle until last, the Matcha Checkered Waffle is topped with peanut butter, condensed milk, sugar and margarine. We're not usually huge fans of matcha but the sweet and salty flavour of the peanut butter melds perfectly with the umami so it's really worth trying.

With new seasonal flavours launching soon for Autumn, it's the perfect time to try Mammy Pancake for yourself.
