Cocktail Bar:

WC Clapham

Wine & Charcuterie

Enjoy fine wine, stunning cocktails and delicious charcuterie in a former water closet at WC Clapham in Clapham Common.

Opened as a gents toilets in 1848 at Clapham Common outside tube station, they were out of service for 30 years before being transformed in a gorgeous wine bar by WC Wine & Charcuterie.

Retaining the tiles and many originals features, the space is cosy and intimate with candles burning and jazz playing, making it a romantic location for date night.

WC love to put their own inventive twist on classic cocktails so start with the Yellowpoint, a spin on the Greenpoint made with  rye whiskey, Ambrato vermouth and yellow chartreuse.

Trade Winds brings a dark chocolate infusion to a rum Old Fashioned while a Margarita is transformed into the Mexican Butterfly with tequila, fresh lime, elderflower cordial and mint.

Our favourite was the Smoked Pear Sour which was frothy, peaty and sweet with tequila, mezcal, fresh lemon, pear liqueur and dash of egg white.

There's an incredible menu of sharing plates and snacks when you're feeling peckish and nothing can beat some charcuterie with a bottle of wine.

We recommend the Chateau Pesquié 974 Ventvri red wine with the Mixed Cheese & Charcuterie Board, combining premium cured meats and cheeses with bread, fruit, caper berries, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

There's a dish to tempt everyone with Smoked Mackerel & Horseradish Pâté, Duck Rillettes & Cranberry, Whole Baked Camembert and Wild Mushroom & Truffle Crostini.

We loved the Raclette which was served bubbling hot with roast potatoes, cornichons and chorizo. It's the perfect winter warmer.

With lovely service from Yash and Harry, incredible food and drinks and quirky surroundings, WC Clapham is a wonderful place to hide away on a winter evening.
