Rhum Tavern

Pirates, Cocktails & Rum

Gather your crewmates for a unique evening of expertly crafted cocktails and swashbuckling vibes at the Rhum Tavern in Fitzrovia.

Located just above Oxford Circus, it feels like you're stepping back in time as you enter London's new pirate bar - adorned with barrels, candles, skulls and swaying curtains. It's romantic and really gives the impression that you're aboard a ship and after a few of their cocktails, you'll feel like your on one too.

There's a treasure map to help you navigate the cocktail menu which is appropriate as each drink is unique, creative and carefully concocted using the finest spirits, sourced ingredients and handmade potions. The bar team really know their stuff and are so lovely and knowledgeable when helping you decide which drink to pick.

Drunken Sailor combines Brugal 1888 rum with black tea & pear kombucha and Prosecco for a refreshing drink that packs a punch. Don't let the pirate theme fool you into thinking that the drinks are a gimmick, they taste delicious while being strong with generous serves.

The most iconic looking cocktail has to be the Dead Men Tell No Lies with Mount Gay Black Barrel rum, passion fruit, Prosecco and red wine. It's served in a skull and topped with crushed iced sprinkled with resveratrol dust to look like a brain.

Taking a small break from rum, The Black Pearl is a stunning tart tasting cocktail featuring Bombay Sapphire, rhubarb reduction, rhubarb bitters and a vanilla custard pearl. Each drink is served in it's own custom designed glass and this is one of the most beautiful with the tentacles of a sea monster holding your drink in place.

Two cocktails inspired by The Goonies, the sweet and smooth milkshake like Truffle Shuffle combines Four Roses Bourbon infused with a Baby Ruth chocolate bar, peanut stout and condensed milk bitters while the Chester Copperpot puts a twist on a whisky sour with Cutty Sark 12, pressed apples, Avallen Calvados brandy and gunpowder syrup.

Saving our favourite for last, The Inferno is quite the spectacle as a coconut is set on fire at the bar to create the glass for this cocktail.

We wouldn't mind being stranded on a dessert island if we could sip these on the beach all day, this sweet and delicious number is made with 42 Below vodka, creamed coconut, hazelnut liqueur, tobacco sugar and spices. You can even ask for the coconut to be cracked open when you're finished so you can enjoy the fruit.

We can't wait to go back, so check the menu at the Rhum Tavern and join us for a shot of grog as we prop up the bar.
