Dine alfresco while barbecuing dishes at your table with the incredible Parrillan Borough Yards.
Located in a Victorian railway arch in Borough Market, this laid-back yet stylish restaurant is the perfect spot to relax on a summer day. The scents and smoke of food barbecuing on the parrillas adds an immersive feel that transports you to the Iberian Peninsula.
Choose from a wide selection of Spanish wines, sherries, cava and cocktails or go traditional with a glass or jug of Sangria with Garnacha, Tempranillo, citrus, spices and apricot.
We loved the Hemingway Fiesta with Planteray 3 Stars, Licor 43, grapefruit and lime, and refreshing Rhubarb Sour with respirited vodka, rhubarb, lemon and foamer.
Enjoy some para picar (Spanish for "to nibble") like Smoked Olives and Marcona Almonds while you browse the menu. The Escalivada is delicious with chargrilled peppers, shallots and aubergines served with coca bread and alioli.
Perfect for sharing, the pintxos are next on the menu with a delicious selection of meat, vegetables and seafood to choose from.
The Lamb Moruno is tender and aromatic with a spicy Mojo Picón sauce, and the Prawns are juicy and sweet with fino and soy. Our favourite was the Txistorra, a semi-cured sausage with Mojo Verde cilantro sauce.
The Arroz de Primavera is an absolutely stunning dish that's wholesome and full of flavour with risotto rice, mushrooms, asparagus, fresh peas, courgette and alioli.
One of the things that really struck us was the quality and freshness of the ingredients, so the dishes are served with minimal fuss and accoutrement to emphasis their natural flavours.
The Scallop was beautifully presented in its shell and the Tuna Steak was cooked to perfection, pink in the middle and so tender that it falls off your fork.
