Hidden away from the business of Shoreditch, with old leather arm chairs, antique trunk tables, a fairy-lit gas lamp and secret bar hidden behind a looking glass, there’s something magical about this place.
One of the best cocktail bars in London, the regularly changing menu combines reimagined classics with unique creations - even vacuum distilling their own spirits to bring eclectic flavours you won’t find anywhere else.
Beefeater Gin is redistilled with jasmine and rose for the Jasmine Collins. A beautifully floral drink, it's mixed with green tea, Palo Santo, Lillet rose, elderflower and orange bitters.
The Marmite Negroni is a truly unique drink which even our marmite hating photographer enjoyed. It's made with butter marmite infused Absolute Vodka, Amer Picon, Aquavit, sweet vermouth, Aperitif and served with a cream cracker. It's subtle, savoury and very delicious.
The Havanna With Love combines Havana 7 rum infused Puerh and Roiboish tea with raspberry and chocolate bitters. A bit like an Espresso Martini with a Cuban Twist, it's frothy, dark and deliciously bittersweet.
Absinthe is something you don't find everyday in London but at Looking Glass it's served in style with a traditional water fountain and four flavours to choose from.
Our favourite drink of the evening was Noel’s Naked & Famous, a new creation from barman Noel Broaders and reimagining of the classic cocktail with Viola Mezcal, Select, Yellow Chartreuse, lemon and a pinch of salt.
